What is E-waste?

E-Waste1.28584924_stdE-waste (electronic waste) refers to computers and electronic equipment nearing the end of their “useful life”. In the right hands, many of these products and components can be reused, refurbished or recycled. This is a healthier and much more environmentally friendly way than the most common alternative of dumping into landfills.  Many individuals assume that their e-waste will be handled responsibly when thrown into the garbage. However, it DOES NOT! And in many cases your e-waste ends up in landfills. As a results our land suffers serious contamination. This is caused by the multitude of components containing toxic substances.

E-waste is a rapidly growing global problem. If not handled properly, it will have an adverse impact on human health and the environment.
